So-Safe Corps has arrested a major robbery suspect on its wanted list in Ado Odo Ota axis of Ogun State.

The security operatives recovered four rifles, 12 rounds of ammunition and five live cartridges from the suspect.

The Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo in a statement by the corps spokesman, Assistant Corps Commander, Moruf Yusuf, said he was arrested yesterday during a So-safe patrol in Abuke Iroko in the Ado Odo Local Government Area.

The suspect was arrested while attempting to burgle a house at Ayo Ogunbanwo street in the community.

Ganzallo said So-safe officers who arrested the suspect searched his house and recovered arms in his room.

According to him, Desmond confessed to his crime and promised to reveal where he kept the arms he used for the operation.

He added “When the suspect saw that the scene at which he was caught might be the end of the road, he speedily confessed that this fateful day, he came to steal gold jewellery in that compound, the reason for him not carrying arms.

“Without torture, he promised to show the team where he kept the arms he uses to perpetrate the crimes he is known for.”

The statement added that the suspect confessed to being involved in deadly attacks in Ogun and Lagos states.

The statement further read “The suspect confessed to have taken part in a number of deadly attacks both in Ogun and in Lagos States and he pleaded that the Corps would get the remaining useful story of their successful attacks from one Mr Jeje, whom he said he is in possession of the AK47 for his team use.”

The so-safe Commander had directed commander at Agbado/Oke Aro communities, to go after other members of the robbery gang.
