A former Taraba State Governor, Reverend Jolly Nyame says his jail term at Kuje Custodial Centre, Abuja has taught him a lot about the nature of Nigeria’s judiciary and Justice System.

Nyame who was convicted for stealing public fund while he was the Taraba State governor, said judiciary system in Nigeria works differently for the people based on their social and financial status.

The former governor speaking to newsmen in Jalingo, as part of activities marking his 67th birthday anniversary, while in prison, he realized that there are two kinds of justice in Nigeria.

According to Nyame, one justice system was for those who are advantaged, while another was for those who are disadvantaged.

He was convicted in 2018 and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for stealing N1.64 billion from the coffer of Taraba state government.

But the Supreme Court reduced the prison term to 12 years in 2020, following a ruling by the Supreme Court.

The former governor thanked president Buhari for granting him state pardon on the ground of age and ill health.
