Federal government says it is spending 999 million naira daily to feed ten million pupils under the national home grown school feeding programme.
A total of nine million, 990 thousand, 862 pupils in primary one to three are the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Team lead of the programme, Aishat Digil, announced this in Abuja at the stakeholders meeting on the modalities for reviewing the feeding costs.
According to her, the ministry just got an approval to raise the cost of the daily feed per pupil from 70 to 100 naira daily for 20 days in a month.
