Meanwhile, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Akanbi has said that no gunmen, kidnappers, or armed bandits could ambush and kill him.

The monarch said anyone who attempted to ambush him, kidnap, or kill him, would face the efficacy of the authority that he represents on earth.

The Oluwo made the declaration while addressing newsmen in his palace in Iwo, in the wake of the killing of three monarchs within a week in Ekiti and Kwara states.

The three slain monarchs had their domains in the Ekiti axis of the two states.

The Oluwo said he could not be ambushed and killed in such a manner because his kingship was owned by god, and he was his representative.

He explained that kings always face problems when they fail to acknowledge God.

The monarch also expressed concern over the denigration of the institution of Obaship in Yorubaland.

According to the Oluwo, kings in Yorubaland have become servants to governments, which to him is an abomination.

Another monarch has been killed by suspected armed bandits in Kogi state.

The late monarch is the Ekpe Oju-Ogidi, Oba Ojo Olayinka Ijomu local government area of the state.

He was killed on his farm.

His body was found on the farm by a search team after he failed to return to the palace from the farm.

The State Information Commissioner, Kingsley Fanwo, confirmed the killing of the monarch.

He described the killing as barbaric.
