Faction of Ohaneze Ndigbo Cautiones Labour Party against Planned Merger with the PDP and NNPP

A faction of Ohaneze Ndigbo, has cautioned the Labour Party against ahead with the planned merger with the PDP and New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).

There has been reported plan by the three political parties to merge and worked against the APC, ahead of the judgement of the presidential poll tribunal.

The faction’s secretary general, Okechukwu Iziguzoro in a statement said the proposal was a pipe dream, satanic and laughable.

It warned that the planned merger would fail, because the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was desperate to become president.

The organization, instead, asks Labour to work with the APC, but okays talks between PDP, Labour and NNPP, to pressuriSe president Tinubu to fulfil its electioneering campaign.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party has dismissed report of its planned merger with the PPD and NNPP.

The party’s spokesman, Yunusa Tanko, on a television programme, said they are not holding merger talk with any political party.

However, reacting to the issue, the group said, “There is possibility of collapse in their talks because Nigerians will not accept Atiku or Kwankwaso as leaders of an alliance. Nigerians know that the uncharitable disposition and desperation of Atiku Abubakar will never allow him to support Peter Obi to become leader of the opposition.

“The ill-fated journey of Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso will crumble in the future. Nigerians are warning the presidential candidate of LP to be wary of failed politicians, whose interest is looking for a way to exploit the credibility and popularity of Obi to see how to depose President Bola Tinubu.

Nigerians are keenly watching the latest attempt of drowning politicians to use Obi to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the future. The indelible stain of such alliance talks, among Atiku, Kwankwaso, and Obi, will destroy Peter Obi if he, Obi, decides to play second fiddle.

“Ohanaeze cautions Obi that association with Atiku and Kwankwaso will destroy him, except if the two support him to lead a unified opposition political party, which is unlikely.
