Lagos State House of Assembly said it has come under pressure over its rejection of 17 out of the 39 nominees presented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approval as commissioners.

The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa speaking during Monday plenary, said the lawmakers could not be intimidated to approve the rejected 17 nominees.

According to him, there is no basis in the eyebrow being raised over the rejection of the 17 nominees by the House which is the Representatives, mouthpiece, eyes and ears of people of the state.

Obasa warned those he called fourth columnists against instigating conflicts as the assembly and the governors are working together.

The Speaker said the house is not in dispute with the governor, adding that both the executive and the legislature are colleagues in the Lagos project.

He said the House has refrained from speaking out on why it rejected the 17 nominees, and would not be compelled to reveal it to members of the public.
