President Bola Tinubu has met the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona at separate meetings in Ogun State.

Ijebu Ode was the president’s first port of call on arrival on Thursday morning aboard an air force helicopter at the Dipo Dina International Stadium. The President’s chopper landed at exactly 10:18am at the airport.

On hand to receive the President were a former governor of the State, Olusegun Osoba, and incumbent State governor, Dapo Abiodun, among others.

From the stadium, the President headed to the private residence of the Awujale, where they held a close door meeting. The president later visited the Alake of Egbaland at his Ake Palace in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

During the electioneering period, Tinubu had aside the Alake and the Awujale, also visited the Akarigbo of Remo-Land, Oba Adewale Ajayi and the Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Kehinde Olugbenle, in their palaces in Shagamu and Ilaro respectively.

This time around, however, the President is billed to visit only two out of the four prominent traditional rulers in Ogun State in what some have described as an “appreciation visit” to the traditional rulers.
