Rival Cultists Continue Killings in Ogun, Heightens Tension in Sagamu

Residents of Sagamu in Ogun State have continued to live in fear, as cultists continue their killings in rivalry clashes in the town.

In the fresh attacks over the weekend, three persons were shot dead by cultists in Agbowa axis of Sagamu.

The killing caused panic among residents, who are yet to recover from the killing of one person by a group of cultists last Friday in the town.

The State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the division police officer in Sagamu was notified of the rival cultist’s clashes, after six cultist’s invaded Agbowa axis of the town.

Odutola said a police team on arriving the area, found three persons lying helplessly in a pool of blood, with gunshot wound to their heads.

According to her, eight expended cartridges and a phone was recovered from the scene of the attack.

She said they were rushed to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, where they were declared dead.

The Police spokesperson said that exhibits such as live cartridges and mobile phones were recovered from the scene of the clash while noting that the Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Abiodun, had mobilised Police officers to the community to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

Meanwhile, three suspects, Oluwatosin Adeniran, Adebayo Oluwaseun and Segun Ademola have been arrested by the police.

Odutola said police have enhanced their presence in the town as directed by the State Police Commissioner, Abiodun Alamutu, who visited that town last Friday, following the resumed cultist’s attacks.
