Police Arrests Suspected Leader of Aye Confraternity Cult Group in the Ijebu Axis of Ogun State

Police have arrested one of the suspected leaders of Aye Confraternity cult group in the Ijebu axis of Ogun state.

The suspect, nicknamed ‘butcher’, is regarded by the as being the second in command of the group for their operations in the Ijebu axis.

The suspect told police after his arrest that he is a final year student of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun.

He was arrested at his residence at Imayewe Community in Ijebu Ode in the early hours of Sunday by the operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactical Team (SWAT).

Police say they had been looking for him in connection with murder, rape and kidnapping cases, mostly in the Ijebu axis of the state.

He was suspected to keep arms and ammunition of the group for operation in the area.

Several arms and ammunition recovered from his residence during the early morning raid, included a beretta pistol, pump action loaded with live ammunition and cartridges.

Other recovered weapons were several locally made rifles and charms.
