Ogun APC and PDP in War of Words over Cultists Killings in Sagamu

Ogun State All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Congress (PDP) have continued to exchange words over the recent bloody attacks by cultists in Sagamu, which left eight people dead.

Scores of suspected cultists have been arrested by security agencies while intervening in attacks by the cultists in the town.

The spokesman of the State APC, Tunde Oladunjoye, in a statement accused the PDP of masterminding the cultists’ attacks.

Oladunjoye in a statement issued on alleged that the Ogun State PDP is now a nest of cultists.

He commends Operatives of Department of State Service (DSS) for arresting a Member of the State House of Assembly, Honorable Damilare Bello, and five suspected cultists for their alleged link to the Sagamu cultists’ attacks.

Oladunjoye asks security agencies to further look into the rank of the state PDP to stop the spate of cultists’ attacks in the state.

In a counter-statement, the state PDP spokesman, Akinloye Bankole alleged that Ogun state APC has emerged as a hub of cultists and criminals.

He alleged that the APC had been using thugs and cultists to harass opposition politicians in the state, especially during the sitting of the Ogun State Governorship Poll Petition Tribunal in Abeokuta.

Bankole also alleged that thugs were deployed by the APC during the March 18 governorship poll, to disrupt voting in some of the polling units during the polls.
