PDP Asks Court To Disqualify Tinubu, Other APC Candidates From 2023 Polls
The PDP has instituted a suit at a Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking the disqualification of all the APC candidates from the 2023 polls.
The party in a suit filed on its behalf by a Senior Advocate, Ayo Ajibola, also wants the court to sack the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu from his position.
According to the suit, the election of the APC National Chairman, and the party’s candidates violates the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 and the 1999 constitution.
The counsel in the application said he would be relying partly on the last September 30 judgement of a Federal High Court which declared illegal, all the activities of the defunct Bunu led APC National caretaker committee.
Following the judgement, the PDP contends that all the primaries, national convention and the presidential primaries conducted by the Bunu National Caretaker Committee are null and void.
Justice Inyang Ekwo had foxed November 23 for mentioning of the case, while the PDP had been directed to notify all 53 defendants in the suit.
