Nine Die In Car Which Plunge Into Dam

Nine passengers have died in a golf station wagon car which plunged into Fada Dam along Danji road in Kano State.

The accident occurred on Saturday at Gwarzo axis of the highway.

The state fire service says the driver of the car lost control and crashed into the dam, following the burst of the tyre of the vehicle.

Spokesman of the Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, told newsmen that firefighters rescued 12 passengers, but that nine of them died later in a hospital.

According to Abdullahi, those rescued included two six month old girls, four women and six men.
