Two persons have died in another road crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The auto crash occurred on Sunday after Iperu-Ogere Bridge, near the Sagamu interchange.

Involved in the accident was a Toyota Corolla car marked JJJ 25 HS, whose driver was speeding, lost control and crashed into a drainage by the roadside.

Hours earlier on Saturday night, three persons also died, seven others injured, in another auto crash near the redemption camp due to speeding.

Meanwhile, Ogun state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anthony Uga, has called on road users in the state to change their attitude, especially on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Uga addressing newsmen in Ota on Sunday, expressed concern that 16 persons were killed in three separate crashes on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway within three days.

He implored motorists who are fatigued after driving from a long distance to always park and rest, as well as reducing speed, and stop night travels.

The FRSC spokesperson added that 18 persons, comprising 16 men and two women, were involved in the accident.

The statement partly read, The crash occurred at about 2123 hrs this night with a total of 18 persons involved (16 male adults and two female adults).

Seven persons were injured and three were recorded dead from the crash.

The suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control.

The injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital for medical attention and the dead bodies were deposited at the same hospital’s morgue in Sagamu.
