Edo Joins Kwara To Reduce Working Hours To Three Days Per Week

Edo State government has joined its Kwara counterpart to reduce working days of civil servants from five to three, to cushion the harsh effects of the new petrol price.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who announced this in a statement on Tuesday, lamented the hardship which people are grappling with.

Obaseki said the harsh effects of the new petrol prices which has raised transport fare has eaten deep into the wages of workers.

Also, the governor said his administration was considering the creation of more virtual classes for teachers to reduce transport bill.

He promised that his administration would do all within its power to reduce the pains that people are going through.

Already, the governor said his administration was paying N40,000 monthly minimum wage, which according to him, was Nigeria’s highest.
