APC NWC Warns Ex-Governor Yahaha Bello to Stop His Ambition to Replace Ganduje

The immediate past Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has disowned posters declaring his ambition to replace the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The posters of Bello on his bid to replace Abdullahi Ganduje on Monday flooded the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, as well as, the federal secretariat, major streets, and roundabouts in Abuja.

The APC National Working Committee (NWC) on Tuesday said there was no vacancy in the party’s national chairman’s office, and warned him against creating a fresh crisis in the party’s leadership.

But Bello later on Tuesday in a statement by his media office in Lokoja, claimed the posters were the handiwork of those he called fifth columnists.

The former Kogi state Governor described the insinuations in the posters as infantile and untrue, while pledging his loyalty to the APC National Chairman, Abudullahi Ganduje.

Morka also disclosed that at the NWC meeting held on Monday, the party expressed its concern over the failure of the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, to swear in 16 lawmakers who are members of the APC in line with the judgment of the Court of Appeal.

The NWC urges the Speaker to swear in the lawmakers without further delay. The Court of Appeal is the highest in respect of petition matters for the House of Assembly.

The Court asked that 16 members of our party be sworn in. But the Speaker has defied the authority of the Court. He has no overriding power on the Court judgment. His discretion isn’t necessary he has a constitutional duty to perform. Anything other than that is unnecessary rascality.

You cannot ignore the judgment of the court of law. As a party, we are urging the Speaker not to drag this matter further because there will be consequences for this.

There will be consequences. There must be consequences when you disrespect the order of the Court.

There are legal options to hold the Speaker accountable for disrespecting the order of the Court.
