In the petition, the APC faction among other demands, want the working committee to deny Governor Dapo Abiodun a second term in office

Akinlade told the gathering that the final decision of the apc national working committee on the petition will determine if he would join the 2023 governorship race

For now, he asks Ogun west leaders not to support anyone yet for the 2023 governorship poll, until the coast is clear over the petitions with the national working committee.

According to him, if the national working committee resolved the petition in the favour of the faction, it would create an opportunity for the Ogun West, and he would join the 2023 governorship race.

He explains that if the national working committee rejects the petition before it, and opts to give the state governorship ticket to Governor Dapo Abiodun, he and his team would obey the decision.
