38 Year Old Man Hacks His 100 Year Old Father to Death in Ogun
A 38 year old man, Matthew Ifeanyi, has allegedly hacked his 100 year old father to death at Ijoko, near Sango Ota in Ogun State.
The tragic incident took place on Tuesday, at Diamond Estate, Olorunda in Ijoko.
The Commander of the state’s So-safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, said the suspect now in custody, attacked his father with a cutlass.
According to the Commander, preliminary investigation by the corps indicates that he hacked his father to death over his inability to refund N70,000 he kept with him since July 22, 2022.

The suspect, according to him, told the Corps’ during interrogations, he attacked his father after failing to provide the fund, to enable him start small businesses after losing his job.
The father rushed to a hospital after the attack and was confirmed dead by a doctor
Ganzallo quoted the suspect to have confessed he took the action since he resigned his previous job to embark on his private business, and his father could not provide him the money.
The So-Safe spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, said the suspect had been transferred to the Sango Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
