Two Killed, Three Injured In Autocrash at Mowe Axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Two persons have died, three other injured in a lone autocrash along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State.

12 others escaped unhurt in the crash on Wednesday, near a Conoil filling station, after Sagamu-interchange.

The accident involved a Mazda bus marked IGB 739 XA.

Spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Compliance Corps (TRACE), Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the driver of the bus was on top speed when the accident occurred.

According to him, the bus which was heading to Lagos lost control, somersaulted, and crashed into a ditch.

According to Akinbiyi, one male and one female died, while a male and two females were injured in the incident that occurred around 4 pm.

He added that the injured victims were rescued to Idera Hospital, Sagamu, while the dead ones were taken to the morgue of the facility by the Federal Road Safety Corps.

Akinbiyi added that the vehicle had been removed from the ditch and taken to Sagamu Divisional Police Station.

While commiserating with the families of the victims, TRACE warned drivers to avoid speeding and dangerous driving in view of its attendant consequences.
