A Toyota Highlander Jeep has run over a commercial motorcycle conveying three persons in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The rider of the motorcycle and his two passengers narrowly escaped death, but they were injured, with fractured legs.

The accident occurred on, at Iyana Mortuary as the motorcyclists riding from the NNPC axis, defied the traffic light ordering him to stop at the junction.

An incoming jeep marked Lagos EPE 34 CQ crashed into the motorcycle and its riders as they attempted to beat the traffic light.

The jeep’s number plates and wheels were mangled in the crash.

No fewer than three people were injured in a crash that happened at the Panseke area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State on Sunday.

Our correspondent, who was at the scene, observed that the three persons, which included a commercial motorcyclist and two passengers, sustained injuries on their palms and legs with visible wounds.

PUNCH Online gathered that the crash occurred when a Lexus Jeep with number plate LND 561 HZ, allegedly overspeeding, collided with a commercial motorcycle, causing the three occupants of the motorcycle to sustain varying degrees of injuries.

One of the victims, who identified simply as Tife, claimed that the driver of the speeding vehicle had initially vowed to hit them, which he eventually did.
