17 Killed, 18 Injured in Separate Auto Crash in Kwara and Kaduna

Six persons have died in a fresh multiple auto crash along Zaria-Kaduna expressway in Kaduna state.

Eleven others were injured in the crash on Tuesday at around 6.25 am at Aliko Filling Station on the expressway.

The state sector commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kabir Nadabo said one of the vehicles involved, was conveying passengers from Ilesha in Osun state to Batsari in Katsina state.

According to him, the driver of the bus who was speeding, lost control and collided with another vehicle in the opposite direction.

Also, eleven persons lost their lives in a fatal auto crash on the Bode-Saadu-Ilorin Highway in Kwara.

Seven others sustained injury in the crash on Tuesday at Ayere axis of the road.

A passenger bus conveying passengers from Gombe to Lagos, and a truck were involved in the crash.

The state sector commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, Stephen Dawlung, said the accident occurred at 4:50 A.M.

The FRSC commander said preliminary investigations show that the driver of the bus crashed into the truck following wrongful overtaking and speeding.
