The PDP Rejects Peace Deal Brokered to End Fubara/Rivers Assembly Lawmakers Dispute

The PDP national working committee has rejected the peace deal brokered by President Tinubu between Governor Seminalaye Fubara and 27 former PDP members of the rivers state House of Assembly.

The PDP contends that the 27 former PDP lawmakers had lost their seats when they defected to the APC.

The 27 members had threatened to initiate impeachment process against the governor, who had been working with a four member of the House of Assembly.

The PDP National Chairman, Ilya Damagun, at a meeting of the working committee in Abuja on Tuesday, asked the defected lawmakers to seek fresh renomination under any political party of their choice, if they wish to return to the state house of assembly.

Under the deal brokered by Tinubu, the governor agreed to withdraw all litigations on his dispute with the lawmakers, who also agreed to stop their impeachment process against the governor.
