A faction of PDP party loyal to a governorship aspirant, Otunba Segun Sowunmi, on Monday, said they were still in court to challenge the conduct of the party’s primaries.

After much litigation, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recognized Honorable Ladi Adebutu, as the state PDP governorship candidate, after courts dismissed applications challenging his election.

But Otunba Segun Sowunmi, appearing on a Rockcity FM programme: ’daybreak show’ on Monday, said the application he filed to challenge the eligibility of the state executive committee to conduct the primaries is still before the supreme court.

He said the apex court’s determination of his application anytime from now,  would determine who will eventually contest in the march 11 governorship poll.

According to Sowunmi, his application is seeking a compelling order of the apex court to dissolve the state executive committee, for the constitution of a caretaker committee to conduct fresh primaries.

He explained that the application before the supreme court is not time bound and if he wins, the ogun state PDP may suffer the fate of the APC in Zamfara and Rivers States.

The PDP governorship aspirant said he had made several moves to settle the issue out of court by visiting the PDP candidate, Ladi Adebutu, as well as another governorship aspirant, Jimi Lawal and a chieftain, Segun Seriki who also went to court.

Sowunmi said he was insisting on his suit before the supreme court after all his moves for reconciliation which were not reciprocated by the PDP candidate.
