Ogun Named On the List of Top Ten States in Nigeria with Highest Financial Fraud In 2023

Ogun, Lagos, Rivers and Abuja have been named as topping financial fraud cases recorded nationwide in 2023, according to the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System.

The Interbank Settlement System revealed the top ten states topping financial fraud in its annual fraud landscape (January to December 2023), published on its website on Monday.

It reveals Lagos state as topping the top ten list with 46,224 cases, representing 49 per cent of fraud cases.

Lagos was followed by the federal capital territory credited with 4,458 cases, or 26 percent of fraud cases, and Rivers state which recorded 3,285 fraud cases.

Ogun state was in fourth position with 2,867 financial fraud cases) and Kaduna states with 2,766 financial fraud cases during the period under review.
