Medical doctors in Ogun State public hospitals are warming up for an indefinite strike scheduled to kick off on Friday, over unpaid hazard allowances.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) however, says it is optimistic that the State Government would reach out to its executive before the D-day.

The State NMA Chairman, Dr. Adekunle Ashimi, gave this indication while appearing on a Rockcity FM programme:’ DayBreak Show” on Monday.

He warned that the doctors would stay away from wards of the state’s public hospitals as from 8 a.m. on Friday, if the state government fails to meet their demands by Thursday midnight.

Doctor Ashimi citing challenges in the state’s hospitals, said the rate of exodus is worrisome.
