Ogun Announces N50 Million Reward for Information on the Director of Finance’s Killers

The Ogun state government has announced a N50 million reward for vital information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the state director of finance, Taiwo Oyekanmi.

The director was shot dead by masked armed robbers, who blocked the bullion van conveying him on the NNPC flyover bridge in Kuto, Abeokuta, on November 30, 2023.

He was returning to the governor’s office with the government’s cash withdrawn from banks when the armed robbers killed him.

The state government, in a statement, said such information should be sent to the following numbers: 080-3744-1955; 0803-3074-371; 080-8177-5020; and 080-3406-2773.

It promised that the information provided would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Oyekanmi was reportedly attacked by armed men while returning to the Governor’s Office with two others. They had just withdrawn money from two major commercial banks in Abeokuta. The motive for the attack and the exact amount of money withdrawn remain unclear.
