Obong of Calabar Pleads With Ogun to Fix Obantoko-FUNAAB Road in Abeokuta
The Chancellor of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Edidem Ekpo Okon Obasi Otu five, the Obong of Calabar, has lamented the state of some of the roads in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
He said the condition of some of Abeokuta, particularly the one leading from Obantoko to FUNAAB, was far below the status of the city, among other cities in Nigeria.
The monarch who is the chancellor of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), expressed his dissatisfaction, while hosting some of the state traditional rulers in the state, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola and the Ajalaye of Ilogun in the Ijebu North East.
The Chancellor who hosted them at the Vice Chancellor lodge, ahead of today’s convocation ceremony of the institution, said his car and those in his entourage moved Zig-Zag along Obantoko-FUNAAB road.

He urged traditional rulers in the state to speak to the governor to pay attention to the deplorable state of the roads, especially FUNAAB-Obantoko road.
Obong said he was worried over the state of roads in Ogun State which once produced an elected president, adding that he would speak to President Bola Tinubu on the state of roads in Abeokuta.
Today’s convocation will begin with first degree graduates, continuing on Saturday with other categories of graduates.
