Former Ogun Commissioner, Says Ijebu and Remo Will Resolve Differences over Proposed Ijebu State
Former Ogun State Information Commissioner, Chief Fassy Yusuf has said all the issues dividing Ijebu and Remo leaders, over the proposed Ijebu state, would be resolved amicably.
According to him, issues, including the location of the capital of the proposed state, will be resolved by traditional councils and major stakeholders of Ijebu and Remo.
Fassy Yusuf speaking on the proposed Ijebu state on a Rockcity FM program:’ daybreak show’ on Monday, said the traditional councils and think tanks would iron out the likely obstacles to the creation of the state.
Sixty members of the House of Representatives last week, had revisited the proposed Ijebu state in a bill, which they sponsored, for the creation of three new states out of the south west region’s six states.
The capital of the proposed Ijebu state, according to the bill, would be in Ijebu ode, while all the local government areas in the Ogun East senatorial district would form the new state.
