Elected PDP Members Shocked Over Sudden Shift Of Ogun Assembly Inauguration

There was a heavy security presence at the Ogun State House of Assembly complex in Abeokuta, as the scheduled inauguration of the assembly on Tuesday was postponed at the last minute.

The sudden postponement caught many Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of the elected House unaware.

Many of them had prepared  food and other form of entertainment for their supporters, after the inauguration on Tuesday.

Already, two musical groups were sighted at the legislative quarters on Tuesday to entertain guests.

The clerk of the house had issued a notice of the postponement late on Monday on the online platform created for the newly elected members.

A PDP elected member, Olalekan Adeleye, speaking on behalf of other eight opposition lawmakers, however.

expressed shock at the sudden postponement of the inauguration to Tuesday, next week.

Meanwhile, Olalekan, addressing newsmen at the entrance gate to the complex, worried over the lock out of elected members,

without any senior management officials of the assembly, telling them why they could not access the assembly.

But the outgoing speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, has urged the lawmakers-elect to be calm over the postponement.

Also, Oluomo said the notice of the postponement was posted on the online platform created for the newly elected members of the House.
