Divorced Woman Sets Policewoman And Her Two Children Ablaze In Anambra

A divorced woman identified as Nnaemaka Nwosu, has allegedly set a police woman and her two children on fire in Anambra state.

The woman after hitting the policewoman in her head, with a pestle, tied her with her children, and set them ablaze.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday at Nnokwa community in Idemili South local government area.

Police say their preliminary investigation revealed that the woman now in their custody, while searching for an alternative  house, was accomodated by the policewoman.

Spokesman of the state police command, Tochukwu Ikenga, said later, the suspect and the police woman had a disagreement, which degenrated into a fight.

In the process, the suspect hit the police woman with a pestle on her head.

The suspect, according to Ikenga, then tied the unconscious police woman with her two children had set them on fire

People in the community arrested the suspect while fleeing the house, and called in the police

Ikenga said the bodies of the police woman and her children had been deposited in a hospital morgue.

DSP Ikenga, who also gave a brief narration of how the incident happened, further revealed that the case had been transferred to the State Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.

“Preliminary information revealed that the policewoman accommodated the suspect while she was searching for a house.

The two women had a disagreement which resulted in a fight before the suspect hit the woman police on her head with a pestle.

“While she became unconscious she tied her with her two kids and set them ablaze.

The bodies of the victims have been recovered and deposited in the morgue. Further development shall be communicated,” Ikenga added.
