The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential poll candidate, Atiku Abubakar has finally filed his petition at the Supreme Court, to challenge the election of President Bola Tinubu in the last February 25 polls.

His Legal Team led by Chief Chris Uche, filed 35 ground of appeal at the Apex Court on Tuesday, seeking the nullification of the September 5 judgement of the Presidential Poll Petition Tribunal.

The Tribunal, in its judgement, dismissed the petition and imposed a heavy fine on the PDP candidate, for wasting its time on frivolous petition.

In the appeal filed at the Apex Court, Atiku’s Legal Team argued that the Tribunal erred in law for upholding the results of the 2023 Presidential Poll.

It also argued that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) acted in the breach of the extant law, and the regulations of the electoral act, in its conduct of the poll.

Atiku lawyers in the appeal also accused the Tribunal of gross misrepresentation and misconstruction of the 1999 constitution and the electoral act.
