Adebanjo Warns Makinde To Keep Off Afenifere Leadership Crisis

The factional leader of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo has warned governor Seyi Makinde against dabbling into the leadership crisis in the pan yoruba sicio cultural organization.

Makinde, according to him, know nothing about Afenifere, and may end splitting the organization.

Adebanjo and Pa Reuben Fasoranti had been at loggerheads since president Bola Tinubu, joined the race for the February 25 poll.

While Debanjo endorsed the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Fasoranti backed Tinubu for the APC presidential ticket.

Makinde on Tuesday had attended a meeting of leaders of thought in Afenifere in Ibadan, to resolve the dispute between Pa Adebanjo and Fasoranti, which has split the organization.

The governor, speaking after the meeting,said top leaders of Afenifere have agreed to intervene in the dispute, adding that both Fasornati and Adebanjo need to be reconciled in the interest of the Yorubas.

But, Pa Adebanjo, disagreeing with the governor, said he had no issue with Pa Fasoranti.

He warned him to keep off the crisis in the organization.

Addressing reporters yesterday, Adebanjo cautioned Makinde against any attempt to split Afenifere.

“What Governor Makinde does not know about, he should not interfere. I have no dispute with Baba Fasoranti.

He should not be one of those who want to split Afenifere, and that is not what I stand for,” he said.

Adebanjo spoke against the backdrop of a proposed reconciliation meeting with Fasoranti.

Makinde had disclosed plans to reconcile Adebanjo and Fasoranti.
