Ogun Government Denies Hoodlums’ Attack At Poll Tribunal on Monday

Meanwhile,  the Ogun state police command said it recorded no case of assault on anyone on Monday during the sitting of the ogun state polls petition tribunal which began sitting in Abeokuta.

The command in a statement by its spokesperson, Omolola Odutola  said it was not aware of attack on none, including a PDP governorship aspirant, Otunba Segun Sowunmi.

It adivised that any case of assault, the assaulted person should immediately report to the nearest police station.

Also, ogun state government has said there was no case of APC hoodlums attacking PDP supporters on Monday, as  Ogun state governorship poll petition tribunal  started hearing the petition of the PDP candidate, honorable Ladi Adebutu.

Also, it said the protest recorded outside the tribunal premises, was spontaneous by members of the apc and the pdp, and has no political coloration.

It also refuted reports that a pdp governorship aspirant, Otunba Segun Sowunmi, was flogged by APC hoodlums, while trying to enter the premises of the tribunal.

The state government in a statement by  the permanent secretary in the ministry of information and strategy,

Waheed Adesina, said what happened was that security operatives prevented party supporters who were attempting to gain entrance into the tribunal,  to observe its proceeding.

It said that the security operatives took the decision, after members of the tribunal ordered them to shut the gates into the premises, immediately the proceeding started.

Segun Sowunmi, according to the state government, on arrival allegeldy mounted pressure on the security operatives to allow him into the tribunal, after identiying himself.

The state government said sowunmi, however,  incurred the hostility of the crowd outside the gate, when the security operatives tried to let him into the tribunal.
