Traditionalist Invade OAU Campus Over Appointment Of New VC

Traditionalists wearing white robes, invaded the campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife on Monday, in continuation of protests by Ife indigenes over the appointment of the new VC of the institution, prof. Adebayo Bamire.

The invasion caused panic among students, who were receiving lectures, since some of the lecturers in the institution are not members of the academic staff union of universities (ASUU).

They were joined by indigenes who blocked all gates leading to the institution, as well as all roads leading to the university.
