3 Suspected Armed Robbers are now in the Police Net over the Last Weekend Raid in Ogun East
Three suspected armed robbers are now in the police net over the last weekend raid of Ipara and Ode Remo in Ogun East by armed robbers.
The off-campus students of the Gateway Polytechnic, Spaades, were mostly targeted by the robbers, who raped some of the female students and carted away the valuables of the students.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Omolola Odutola named the suspects arrested as Taiwo Oredoyin, Taiwo Kuti, and Folorunso Saheed.
According to her, they were arrested on a motorcycle, during a joint stop-and-search operation in Ode Remo and Isara.

She said the suspect attempted to escape arrest but was overpowered by security operatives, adding that one of the suspects was identified by one of the victims of the robbery attacks.
The police spokesperson said a locally made pistol, two live cartridges, and two phones were recovered from them.
After their interrogation, she said the suspects would be transferred to the criminal investigation and intelligence department for diligence investigations.
Following a security summit organized by the Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha psc, in response to the recent shooting incidents at Gateway Polytechnic, a proactive operation was conducted based on intelligence.
On November 27, 2023, the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, implemented a stop-and-search operation in Ode Remo and Ipara areas.
During the operation, a gang of three suspected armed young men were intercepted on a motorcycle. The suspects attempted to evade arrest by resorting to violent means to escape but were eventually apprehended.
