Phillip Shuaib Says Oshiomhole Is Still His Father Despite Their Political Differences

Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Phillip Shuaib, has said that former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, is still his father, despite their political differences during the state’s 2020 Governorship Poll.

Shuaib who is now aspiring to contest the 2024 Governorship Poll on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform stated this on a television interview.

Shuaib had teamed up with Governor Godwin Obaseki to defect from the APC to the PDP, following Oshiomhole’s support for the governor’s rival, for the APC ticket in the 2020 poll.

Oshiomhole eventually lost out in the power tussle, as Obaseki got re-elected on the ticket of the PDP, and with the support of Shuaib, ensured the sack of Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the APC.

Shuaib said he would find an opportunity to reach out to Oshiomhole for the improper words he uttered before, during, and after the 2020 poll.
