Two Person Killed, Four Injured in Ogun Christmas Day Auto Crash

In a Christmas day auto crash, two persons lost their lives at Mowe axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun state.

The accident injured one person.

Two vehicles, a Mazda bus marked FKJ 215 XX, and a Toyota HiAce bus marked TSE 266 XA collided near the redemption camp.

The state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson, Chief Route Commander Florence Okpeh, attributed the accident to wrongful overtaking and speeding.

Additionally, a head-on collision between a bus and a car along Abeokuta-Sagamu interchange in the state on Christmas day injured three people.

The nine occupants in the two vehicles narrowly escaped death in the crash on Monday at Orile Imo axis of the road.

However, the vehicles involved in the crash included a Toyota car and a bus.

The driver of the bus who was speeding lost control of the vehicle and collided with the car in the opposite lane.

The bus somersaulted, and the car skidded off the expressway into the bush.

According to the FRSC spokesperson, a total of 15 persons, including 12 men and three women, were involved. Among them, two died, and one sustained injuries.

The injured victim from the Lagos-Ibadan expressway accident received medical attention at Idera Hospital, Sagamu. The deceased were taken to the morgue at the same hospital.

Meanwhile, okpe quoted the state Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, advising motorists to avoid speeding and to pay maximum attention while driving.
