TUC, ASUS Praise Abiodun for Christmas Bonus to Civil Servants in Ogun

Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUS) have commended Abiodun administration over the Christmas bonus for civil and public servants on the Ogun state government’s payroll.

The state chairman of TUC, Akeem Lasisi and his ASUS counterpart, Felix Agbesanwa, in their letters of commendation, described Governor Dapo Abiodun as a true leader, who has interest of workers at heart.

Lasisi said the Christmas bonus came as a shock to workers, adding that it would help to reduce the effects of economic hardships on them and their families.

He promised that the gesture would further spur civil servants to do more at all fronts for the state.

In his own letter, the ASUS chairman said the Christmas bonus paid along with the December salaries, has further endeared the governor to the workers, especially teachers in the state.

The gesture, according to Agbesanwa was unprecedented in the history of the state.

Specific percentage of the basic salaries of the civil servants of all cadres were paid as the Christmas bonus, along with the December 2023 salary, ahead of Christmas.

Kindly accept the reassurances of our gratitude and unalloyed loyalty and support for Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

The ASUSS leadership, while appreciating the governor, noted that the payment of December salary and Christmas bonus has further endeared the present administration to the state workers, especially teachers.

They described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the state.

The ASUSS leadership noted that the governor has shown that he would do more to offset other pending leave allowances and global deductions when the economy of the state improves.
