TASUED Students in Massive Protests over Massive Increase of Tuition Fees

Protests have rocked Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, following the jerking up of the tuition fees for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The Ogun State Government controlled institution raised the tuition fees for both the incoming and returning students.

For the fresh students in education programmes, the new tuition fee is N230,000  while returning students will pay N180,000, instead of the present N76,500.

For pure courses, fresh students will pay N240,000  while returning students have their tuition raised from N80,500 to N240,000.

The students on Monday morning, staged protests at the campus gate and various locations within the campus.

They carried tree stems, and placards inscribed with various inscriptions, to protests the new tuition fees, which they regard as arbitrary and outrageous, considering the economic situation in the country.
