Court Today Determine Oyetola’s Fate in Osun Governorship Poll

Political tension has heightened in Osun state one day to the state governorship poll as court will today determine the eligibility of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to contest in the poll.

A federal high court sitting in Osogbo, will this morning rules on the suit filed by the Aregbesola faction of the state APC to challenge the emergence of Oyetola in the state APC primaries as the party’s candidate for Saturday’s poll.

The faction’s governorship candidate, Moshood Adeoti defeated in the primaries had asked the court to disqualify Oyetola from contesting the governorship poll on the ground that he never resigned as governor while serving as a member of the APC national caretaker committee.

Meanwhile, the APC and other eleven political parties participating in the poll on Thursday had signed a peace accord to ensure a violent free poll.

The peace accord was facilitated by the national peace committee in Osogbo.
