Senior Secondary School Students In Police Net For beating Their Teacher

A group of senior secondary school students are now in police net in Ogun State, for beating a teacher who caught them while cheating in an examination.

Ten of the students of Isanbi Comprehensive High School, Ilishan Remo, had waylaid and beat the teacher, identified as Kolawole Sonuga.

The teacher had invigilated in the unified examination for the senior secondary school one class in the school, last Tuesday.

The teacher had caught a student cheating and seized answer script, during the examination.

A group of students later waylaid the teacher at the gate of the school, beat him, while some of them hit him with sticks on his head.

Police from the divisional police headquarters in the area later swooped on the students and arrested ten of them.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of ten of the students.

She said they were picked up after the teacher reported the incident at the Remo divisional headquarters.

Last year, similar cases were reported in four of the public secondary schools in the state, compelling the state government to force parents to sign letters of undertaking on behalf of their children.
