Monday 25:

On Monday, 25 September 2023, we said that the Yoruba Council of Elders urged the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgent importance, create an enabling environment for the return of all involuntary exiles, who they regarded as victims of previous bad governments in Nigeria.

The Yoruba elders said that those in exile include “the personages of Professor Banji Akintoye and Chief Sunday Igboho, who were harassed for advocating proper and dignified treatment of their law-abiding kinsmen”, while calling on the Federal Government to reaffirm its responsibility to provide equal protection to all citizens.

And we asked what your take was on the Yoruba elders’ call?

75% agreed, while 25% disagreed.

Tuesday 26:

On Tuesday, 26 September 2023, we said the Human rights lawyer Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, condemned the move by the federal government to increase university tuition fees. He warned the Nigerian state against commercializing education, which he described as a basic requirement enshrined in the Constitution to the effect that the federal government would provide free and affordable education from primary to university level as and when due.

According to Falana, it is the responsibility of the government to invest in education, adding that the country is endowed with enough resources and should be in a position to fund education adequately if the government prioritizes its programmes.

And we asked what your take was on Falana’s submission?

45% agreed, while 45% disagreed.

Wednesday 27:

On Wednesday, 27 September 2023, we told you that the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, said that the popular late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad,’s decision to pitch his tent with evil cut his life short, adding that he reaped the reward of his unpleasant lifestyle while alive.

According to Bakare, when Mohbad was drinking, smoking, and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth, while asking if Mohbad was a good name.

And we asked what your take was on Bakare’s submission on the singer’s death?

81% agreed, while 19% disagreed.

Thursday 28:

On Thursday, 28 September, 2023, we said the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, called on the Federal Government to find a solution to the economic crisis the country is facing and to reduce the cost of governance in the interest of the nation, while urging the government to listen to the demands of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to avoid the planned industrial action.

According to Afenifere, since the removal of the oil subsidy and other economic policies “hastily pronounced without planning for the collateral effects”, the Nigerian masses have been abysmally pauperized.

And we asked what your take was on Afenifere’s submission?

97% agreed, while 3% disagreed.
