PSC Worried Over the Authenticity of Certificates from Applicants in the Ongoing Police Constable Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has expressed concern over the authenticity of certificates presented by some of the applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 30,000 police constables into the force.

The Commission’s Chairman, Solomon Arase, in an update on the recruitment exercise, said many of the candidates with Senior Secondary School Certificates or National Certificate of Education, could not write their names.

Arase who also said that some of them could not introduce themselves, wondered how they acquired such academic certificates.

He was optimistic that the aptitude tests in the ongoing screening of the candidates would assist in weeding out unqualified candidates from the recruitment exercise.

The commission is screening 416,270 applicants, out of which 136,177 had been cleared, while credentials of other 108,768 had just been uploaded.
