The force headquarters and the Police Service Commission are again at loggerheads over a fresh recruitment of police constables into the force for the year 2022.

Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement said that police force has not commenced the 2022 police recruitment exercise.
Both the force headquarters and the police service commission first clashed on which of them had the constitutional rights for the fresh recruitment of police constables in 2019.
The matter was later taken to a Federal High Court which ruled that the inspector general of police and not police service commission is empowered by the constitution to recruit police constables.
Also, the appeal court in 2020 upheld the power of the inspector general of police for the recruitment exercise.
