Police Deputy Commander Injured As Ten Cultists Arrested In Clampdown In Ogun

Ten suspected cultists have been arrested in the ongoing police clampdown on cultists.

This happened while engaging each other in supremacy battle at Sagamu in Ogun State.

The deputy commander of police anti-cultism squad, Morakinyo Adejumo, was seriously injured in the process of arresting the suspects.

Those arrested were members of the Eiye confraternity group, which engaged aye confraternity group in supremacy battle, which left three persons dead last week in the town.

Those arrested were identified as Adekoya Adesina, ayinde olumide, adebayo jamiu and ajayi temitope.

Others are Taiwo Olatunji, Oladapo Ayeye, Johnson Adeyemi, Tunde Banjo, Gbenga Morufu and Tunde Adenuga.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said they were arrested while converging at odogbolu, preparatory to join the supremacy battle in Sagamu.

However, he said ten of them were arrested after a shoot out with the police.

Oyeyemi listed items recovered from the suspects as eight live catridges and large quantities of weed suspected to be indian hemp.

The state police commissioner, olanrewaju oladimeji, had directed a manhunt for the other members of the group.
