Over 200 Grammes Of Marijuana Seized In NDLEA Raid On Drug Joints In Abeokuta
Operatives of the national drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA) have raided major drug joints in Abeokuta, the state capital, seized over 200 grammes of marijuana.
222.4 kilogrames of marijuana was seized during the raid carried out jointly with the army and Nigeria security and civil defence corps.

The state commander of the agency, Mrs Ibibia Odili, addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, said thus;
the raid was carried out at major drug joints in Mayas in Lafenwa, Odo Eran and Rander, all in the city.
The NDLEA commander said 40 bottles of codeine and locaaly made gun were seized during the raid.
A similar raid was carried on major drug joints in the city a few days ago during a large quantity of drugs were seized.
“In addition to the cannabis seizure, the joint forces discovered 40 bottles of codeine, weighing a total of 0.4 litres, highlighting the misuse of pharmaceutical drugs.
“The operatives also seized a locally-made gun during the operation.”
Odili said the NDLEA in collaboration with men of the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army and the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps launched the fourth phase of its mopping-up and counter-narcotic intelligence operations against illicit supply and abuse of drugs in Abeokuta.
She said efforts would be made to dismantle the drug trafficking network and disrupt the supply of chains of illicit substances to create a safe and drug-free environment.
