Over 14,000 Bottles of Alcohol Destroyed in Jigawa State

Over 14,000 bottles of alcohol, including beer, have been seized and destroyed in Jigawa State.

About 14,400 bottles of the drinks were confiscated by officials of the Hadeija Local Government last Saturday in the State Capital.

The Local Government Chairman, Bala Umar, who announced this, said 621 cartons of beer were among the destroyed alcohol bottles.

The consumption of alcohol and intoxicants, according to him, would distort the mental capacity of people in the state.

Umar said alcohol was forbidden in Islam.

He pointed out that the council would continue to fight against immoral acts, including the consumption of alcohol, in the area.
