The Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, has accused manufacturing plants springing up in Yewaland of being a liability instead of a blessing to the people of Ogun West.

According to him, the companies have failed to meet their statutory corporate responsibility or give anything back to their host communities in Yewaland.

The paramount ruler also accused the Federal Government of turning Yewaland into an exploitative field due to the huge mineral deposits in the area.

The monarch stated this in a message to the Yewaland economic summit, held as part of the 2023 edition of the Yewa festival last weekend in Ilaro.
