Ogun State Government Begins Construction of Houses Close to Cargo Airport in Iperur Remo

Ogun State Government has begun the construction of 200 housing units close to the gateway cargo airport in Iperur Remo.

The low and medium housing units, consisting of two expendable bedroom, is scheduled for completion in six months.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Housing, Jagunmolu Omoniyi, announced the project on his X, formerly (Twitter) handle on Thursday.

He said each unit would cost N8.5 million for the Carcas option, and N15 million for the fully furnished unit, with a mortgage option through the Gateway Mortgage Bank.

According to the Special Adviser, the project was being implemented to complement the Airport, and to provide housing solution to the emerging Remo Zone Economic Hub.

However, he move by the State Gov­ernment, according to Jagun­molu Akande Omoniyi, the Special Adviser to the Gover­nor on Housing, would add to the housing stock in the state, provide housing solu­tion to the emerging Remo Zone Economic Hub, with the expected influx of work­ers to the area and comple­ment the state government’s investment in the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport.

According to Jagunmolu, each unit would be offered to the public at N8.5 million for the carcass option and N15 million for fully finished units with mortgage options avail­able through Gateway Mort­gage Bank.

The estate would be fully serviced with all basic ame­nities like good drains and well-compacted road network, security architecture, lighting and water reticulation, play­ground, health and educational facilities as well as a Fire Ser­vice Station to serve the emerg­ing economic cluster,” he said.

He added that the project would boost the local econo­my as 5,000 artisans and over 50 service providers (suppliers) would be available on-site.

The project is expected to be completed in six months.
