Ogun Monarch Laments Economic Hardships, Warns Nigerian Economy on Powder Keg

A monarch in Ogun State, Oba Adewunmi Odutala has urged the Federal Government to adopt urgent measures to reduce the economic hardships in the country.

Oba Odutala warned that Nigeria’s Economy has been sitting on a gunpowder keg for a long time, adding it could explode if nothing is done to reduce the current hardships.

He spoke on the issue on Sunday during his annual festival of praise held at his palace in Ayetoro Budo Ota.

The monarch explained that although it was still too early to evaluate the Tinubu administration, there was anguish in the land, and a need to do something to reduce the pain.

But I want the government to know that there’s poverty in the land, people are suffering and they need to quickly put some policies in place that will reduce the high level of poverty.

If you have been following the economy of this country, you will know that Nigeria has been sitting on a keg of gunpowder for a very long time.

Nigeria’s economy is a dead horse still standing. Tinubu inherited a dead horse. Let us keep praying for the present administration to get it on time.

There’s anguish in the land, people are suffering, and the government should put policies in place that will reduce all this hardship. I see a better Nigeria in 2024, he said in a statement.

Earlier in his sermon, the intercontinental Evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Kalejaiye, advised Nigerian youths to refrain from relocating abroad, assuring them of a better Nigeria.

He noted I am very optimistic, that Nigeria will be better. A cow doesn’t know the value of its tail until it is cut off. They cannot know what we have here until they travel. There’s freedom here.
