NSCDC, Fire, Immigration and Prison Services End HND/Degree Certificate Dichotomy for Personnel

Paramilitary agencies under the interior ministry have terminated the agelong dichotomy between Polytechnic’s HND diploma and University’s degree in its employment.

Affected agencies include the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Correctional Service.

Secretary of the NSCDC, Fire, Immigration Services and Correctional Service, Alhassan Yakmut, said the approval to end the dichotomy was given during the meeting of the board between May 9 and 10, in Abuja.

She said that a technical committee was then set up to work out the modalities for the harmonization.

With the new development, personnels with HND and Degree certificates will henceforth be employed into the superintendent cadre.
